Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-term trainer Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial trophy following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

The win also means he has won twenty-one championships at 21 different events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in that event earlier this year.

The player's defensive strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.

However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

He came back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional victory, took control to force a final set.

The opponent defended 4 early chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
